Going to Passive

The going to form can be also used with the passive in the future or past form.

Future

Subject + AM/ARE/IS + GOING TO BE + Past Participle (+ by...)

Examples:

  • The house is going to be renovated.
  • New chairs are going to be bought by my wife.

Past

Subject + WAS/WERE + GOING TO BE + Past Participle (+ by...)

Examples:

  • The house was going to be renovated, but we didn't have enough money to do it.
  • New chairs were going to be bought by my wife.
